Make Desktop Subscribed Agents more like Agents on Mobile

Now that we have the ability to access and use our agents on Osaurus mobile, I’m starting to see that mobile has more capabilities and features than desktop when running remote agents.

Here’s my setup:

Mac mini - always on server, runs Osaurus and hosts all of my agents.

Macbook - day to day machine running Osaurus, and using shared agents that run on the mac mini.

Mobile - running Osaurus mobile, which also connects to the mini.

In this scenario, I’m noticing some discrepancies between Mobile and Desktop.

  1. From Mobile, I’m able to change the model an agent is using, but I can’t do that on on the macbook (the model picker is locked for shared agents running on the mini).
  2. On Mobile, I can see all of my agent sessions, the ones that I ran from the macbook, ones from the mini itself, and of course past mobile sessions. But on the macbook, I can only see the macbook’s sessions.

I understand that there are situations where you don’t want shared agents to be able to see other sessions, or to be able to change the model. But there are a lot of situations where you do want this behavior - especially now that mobile can do these things.

Generally, I’m trying to move over to Osaurus from Hermes. In hermes, I can run the desktop app on my macbook and connect it directly to the mini as a remote gateway. This exact concept doesn’t seem to exist in Osaurus, so I was hoping that sharing agents would be a way to get similar functionality.

Hey thanks for your feedback and feature request.

Our mobile implementation is currently a native connection 1:1 to your prime instance – in your case, the Mac mini.

If I understand your feature request, it is to be able to “pair” your Laptop to your Desktop in the same way.

Once the iOS/iPad app is officially launched we’ll swing back around and take a look at how we can improve this for your use case.

That’s great to hear. I’d love to see the same functionality (native connection 1:1) be possible from the desktop app. This mimics hermes’ “remote gateway” functionality and will make it way easier for other hermes users to migrate over to osaurus.

Can the mobile app simply be run on a m-series Mac as a universal app in the meantime?
